This is one of Seiko newest innovations that shows Seiko understands what consumer wants. From its cool design and color to its array of features, Seiko continues to outpace its competition. This metronome is compact, has volume control, pendulum simulation, beat setting, tone generation, pitch shift, and tap in functionality. Furthermore, it has a slit for using the metronome on the music stand and a strap hole.
The metronome, even though pocket size, has an amazing speaker. It produce the loudest sound for metronomes in its class. The volume control allows the metronome to be used even with loud instruments. The sophisticated visual/audio combination features authentic chimes and claves sound for strong and weak beats.
The metronome comes with a bank of 5 LEDs that simulates pendulum motion found in a traditional metronome. The LEDs have successive lighting capability that produces a "light trail" effect making the pendulum motion more realistic. This greatly enhances the visual sensing of tempo. This feature is great for students who are just learning how to count.
The metronome features one of the widest range of beat and rhythm settings on the market. The beat and rhythm patterns are highlighted by the chime and clave sounds. It has 0-7 beats. This helps to highlight strong beats in the music. It has 6 different rhythms including duplet, triplet, quadruplet, duplet with rest, triplet with rest, and quadruplet with rests. The beat settings combines with the rhythm settings will fulfill any rhythm requirement you may have. Perfect for helping students to learn sophisticated rhythm patterns.
The tap in feature of the metronome helps you determine the tempo of any thing you want to measure. You can use the 'tap in' button to tap the tempo, the metronome will automatically determine the tempo for you. You can then choose what rhythm to use. No more guess work on how fast to set the metronome.
The metronome also comes with a very wide pitch shift function from 410-450 Hz. Additionally, it can generate 12 tones for reference: C4 and B4. Perfect for instrument tuning. The metronome also comes with a earphone jack that allows you to use the metronome with an earphone and delivers the tempo directly into your ear.
The metronome has an amazingly useful features that no other metronome has on the market. It has a narrow slit on the back of the metronome that allows the metronome to be 'hooked' onto the music stand securely. This is very useful when playing with a stand. Because other than the piano, where you can place a metronome on the instrument, it is difficult to find some place to put the metronome when practicing any instrument. This feature solves that problem. The metronome also comes with a strap hole, like the ones on cameras. You can attach a strap to the metronome and carry it or hang it.
As with all Seiko metronomes, this model is also very well built to resist damage from accidental drops.
